If something was so bad that it removes you from the seat then the belt is the least of your worries. Think about it.

Pretty simple: you work in a regulated industry. Don’t like the regulations? Find something else to do. Get caught doing something you’re not supposed to? Don’t complain about the outcome of your actions. It’s not like requiring seat belt use for commercial drivers is something new.

    Nope, sorry.
Doesn’t take much to move you out of your seat.
I lost two high school friends who rolled their cars. Both weren’t wearing belts (pre seatbelt law).
Both were found outside crushed under their vehicles. Maybe later I’ll dig up a couple videos of people seemingly floating out of their cars when they lost control. It’s the strangest thing to see.

The feds have made it so every state in the country must wear a seat belt in their own cars. Seat belt laws are government overreach just like helmet laws. The "regulated industry" excuse holds no water.

There are a lot more idiots today, a lot more people without most of the common sense that was once common. There are also millions & millions of people wanting to sue trucking companies for any infraction. There are half the country's voter desperate to tell the other half how to do anything AND what to think.

Things change. Don't volunteer for the easiest ticket in the FMCSA to avoid.

We're not talking about cars. I specifically mentioned trucks, not cars. Also, your argument holds no water with cars either though.

Had a friend hit a tree. Had his belt on. Broker his neck. It killed him.

His girl was in the passenger seat not wearing a belt. She was ejected from the vehicle and lived.

Regardless of whether someone thinks they're going to save their lives is irrelevant. We're supposed to be living in a free country where we're free to make our own health decisions. When the government makes those decisions for the individual it's the death of freedom and liberty.

You’re right. They haven’t been required for commercial drivers since the 70’s.

“Government overreach”. Lol. Remember when the government said who could buy trucks and have authority and what rates they could charge? Deregulating the industry was horrible and put us where we are now but any little regulation someone doesn’t like is overreach.

Anytime I got a ticket for overweight or log book or anything else I took the consequences and moved on because it was my choice to do whatever I was doing. I didn’t come on the Internet and complain it shouldn’t be a regulation because I don’t want it to be.

Nobody ever asked you to see the moral harm of not wearing a seatbelt? Why do people who think like a 12 year old girl think their approval about a topic is being requested by anyone? It's an IQ test and you seem stubbornly determined to fail the test, so knock yourself out. Stick it to the system, make it hard to get a job. Don't let The Man think you are his pushover.
