Correct. BOL had yesterday’s date. Log book showed off duty all day yesterday. Was kinda stupid only reason I did it like that was to stay under the 8 of 30 day for eld exemption. He asked why I didn’t have a ELD.

Those commercial enforcement guys in WA do a lot of random pull over(s). Hwy 512 between the I-5 & the 167 is one of their favorite enforcement spots, especially since the port of entry in Ridgefield is still under construction since being torn down.

Yeah, I did something similar about six years ago. I had written the time of arrival and departure on the bill because they kept me a long time and I was going to apply for detention. That bit me when the cop at the scale compared it to my log. You live and learn.

2001 Dodge. Checked engine emissions tag and says meets 2000 regulations :/. Was on eld last year when just starting out. ELD helped passing the new entry audit. But truck and trailer are paid for and I’m really not driving that much. Got tired of getting stuck couple hours from home so went to papers.
Agreed that you live and you learn, won’t be making that mistake again. My main concern is a spike in insurance and if more inspections will happen because of this violation.

Get a lawyer and try to plead down to something less serious so it doesn't go on your MVR. It will go on your PSP/CSA no matter what though. So yes, your insurance is very likely to go up.

Not going to waste my time with a lawyer. Tried that after getting a speeding ticket in a personal car. What a waste of money and effort. You say my insurance is likely to increase? You know this from experience or? Not saying your wrong just want to know where you got the info.

Really? Non renewal for first violation. No traffic violations or accidents on record.

    You might have to.

Generally when you as a company fail to follow the law, Insurance will raise rates or cancel coverage. Then when you tried to get a replacement insurance you might discover that ALL of the insurance agencies are aware of your previous issues and charge more.

I remember one time I had a vehicle (A car...) on my land stored for a year. Arkansas had no issues with tags and registration but insurance was suspended that year from monthly charges and not valid for street. When it came to time to restore the insurance the agent there was a replacement herself and tried to raise my policy from 55 a month full coverage to 165 a month all out. I said to her that's BS, here is the stack of insurance going back 15 years. She paled and pulled the agent owner who recognized me and settled everything back to 55 a month and said thank you and off you go.

Your 2001 dodge should be exempt. I had a quadcab from that year, a manual with the 5.9 custom. But it was not a hotshot truck, I hauled cut timber with it for people across a few winters until it got totaled of all things in the post office. (By a F250 that did not get any damage)

I know that dodge probably has a good computer in it, but it's supposed to be exemt anyway from ELD.

ELD's have also changed or is changing fast. You cannot run them as Cell Phone apps anymore. (Bleah...) you will have one hardwired to your vehicle's main computer.
