Agreed, it is a great time to get started and nothing wrong with it at all... many benefits to doing so as well... for those that prefer running at that time... :)

Agreed... and that’s why I don’t generally have issues with HOS... 11/14/10... all good... except for times like this when it’s obviously safer for this driver to continue to drive 3 hours in the middle of the afternoon rather than middle of the night. That’s about the only time I have to laugh and shake my head.

Thankfully these issues don’t pop up very often here at FCC... so when they do, so be it.

I tried to sway my DM that way. But in the end. He’s my access to paychecks. 3500 miles this week, with the flatbed pay and 1000 of those miles at oversized rate. I know we all have jobs to do, and I’d rather put the ball in their court, so hopefully he’ll have my back when I really need it.

But yeah. Major waste of a day today though. Paycheck wise with cutoff dates, a 34 wouldn’t have hurt anything.

There better be customers at our customer waiving $100 bills if this couldn’t have waited 1 more day.

I agree, I prefer starting between 2 - 4 a.m. whenever possible. Less idiots out on the road, and you are shutting down earlier with more options for parking when you are done for the day

A heads up... So that no one will get into this problem....
When I’m on I-80 Nebraska and low on food supplies I usually stop at the Walmart in Ogallala, NE by exit 126

I now that going in at the end of the road you must stay towards your left so that you don’t fall into a drop on the right hand side that’s about one foot and a half... it can do a lot of damage to your truck.

Apparently this driver was not aware of this and he got a big surprise in the morning... All his engine oil was on the floor. (I hope he didn’t turn the engine on) Feel sorry for him.

That’s why I started using the Sydney Walmart, I just about lost my dentures in Ogalalla.

Lol... About one year ago that drop was a lot smaller. When I went through not knowing and drop it activated the camera in the truck.

Well, 2am rolled around and it was a lovely drive through the Big D... no lines at my fuel stop... there are very good benefits to driving at night... just wish my body would agree with that time frame... lol ... unfortunately I’m more of a night owl rather than an early bird.

edit: and better parking options as mentioned
