Your company hand book is where you will find it. Will look something like this. No firearms allowed in company vehicles or on company property.:biggrin_2554:

    not the same

but when traveling to a race
i carry a 9mm i have a permit to carry in MI never really checked in other states if it was ok and never been asked if i had any weapons in the truck when pulled over and that was only once.

i feel safer if i pull off to sleep in a truckstop or rest area.

What's not the same? You might feel safer with it when your standing in line at the employment office looking for a new driving job.:biggrin_2559:

You know, this topic is getting old. Someone has already explained it. If you have a concealed carry license then you are allowed to carry a gun in the truck period!! The rules are the same for a regular person as a truck driver. The only difference is that when we drive we have a chance of driving into a state that would not accept our license. If you have a CCL in the south practically every state south of Virgina will allow you to carry except California. We have to worry about entering a shipper/receiver that will not allow firearms. Thats it!!

I will be getting my license soon and since I only travel through states that recognize my license I will guaranteed be carrying my pistol in my truck. Like someone said before. I answer to no one, so no company will tell me whether or not I can carry or not.

There is no explanation that a liberal can give me that would justify why I shouldn't carry a firearm. It my Constitutional right and I sure as hell will exercise that.

Someone has also explained that a company can fire you for violating company policy of No Guns in or on company property. Nice to know that you can carry a gun to the unemployment office.:biggrin_2556:

Why is it that so many truck drivers think they are under a "special" set of rules?

There are shippers and receivers that do not allow guns on the premises. What do you do with your gun then?

There are trucking companies that do not allow guns. It is their company, they can set the rules however they like.

Legally, you don't have a leg to stand on here, unless your company has no policy against it, you don't travel to States where your concealed license doesn't work, or you go to no shipper/receivers that don't allow guns on the premises.

It is as simple as that. I don't know why this topic constantly comes up.

If you carry a gun, and I can't fault you for doing so, there is a good chance you are at risk of breaking the law.

I am a C.C.P holder from West Virginia, I checked with the Sect. of State and got information on the states that honor WV Carry Permits. Their are 23 States that a CCP Holder from WV can legally carry in.
