All's well that end's well. Ah Windsmith... you walked back and pulled the chock. That big red light is right there starin' ya in the face dude! That's always a good time to take a look under the trailer and make sure the dock lock is released too. Mechanical faults do happen.

Seriously, you do have to be careful around docks. What if a warehouseman had been moving a forklift in/out of the trailer right when you pulled away? People have died when that's happened.

at my company a few years back we had a driver hook to a empty trailer, skip the pre-trip,not even close the doors and roll down the highway...
With a shop employee in the trailer screaming for his life!!

The shop employee called the terminal on his cell phone and the dispatcher called the Driver..

He returned to the yard..and was Fired!!(as he should have been)

Yes. 150 miles round trip, unload with electric pallet jack, $170 extra in my paycheck for the week.

Kinda makes me wonder why the shop guy didn't hop out to see what was up during the time between the driver hitting the kingpin and driving off. I'm sure he had at least a few minutes while he was attaching the air lines and cranking up the landing gear?

He probably thought "The trailer doors are open, who would leave?"
