I keep a spray bottle of dish soap water for checking for air leaks and cleaning my windshield. I spray it liberally on the glass before fueling up and by the time I got both nozzles in and pumping I wash my windshield like normal. Some spots take a little elbow grease but it still cleans a hell of a lot better than just the straight dirty water they put in the buckets.

Do not do this in your windshield reservoir. It makes the lines clog with a hard whit substance and you have to replace the lines.

the trick we do is we have a small bottle of dawn dishwashing detergent with us, can buy at any dollar store. When you pull up to clean windshield take a little squirt of that dawn and place on the pad part of the squeegee, like run a bead. Then clean your windshield. It takes those bugs right off windshield

i don't use wipers to clear bugs except when stopped, as the wind reduces the effectiveness of the wipers. I carry a squeegee and spray bottle of wiper fluid and clean windshield like I was at a fuel pump.

Clean the windshield good and then apply rain-x. That will make the windshield clean easier.

Rather than Dawn, I use Fabuloso. No suds, cuts the bugs just fine.

You go to the truck stop, take the squeegee and get your windshield good and wet, wet the squeegee again, put a line of soap on the squeegee, and the bugs come off like a dream. Frequent use of the dish soap reduces the stickiness of bugs of your windshield. Anyone who uses the washer fluid and wipers is being lazy because that ain't doing a thing except make streaks. Dish soap seems to be nearly unanimous here

When mine gets bad I use the wipers at the fuel island and keep spraying water on it until it’s all loose. Good for a day where I go

I just wet the whole windshield before I fuel and then leave it while I fuel, and afterwards I might apply more and then take it all off. Or else I had to clean the windshield 2-3 times.
