Then u tell the shipper or receiver to pound sand I'm completing my 8 or 10 hours since you guys decided to keep me here for 7 hours. Then u take the time to drive a truckstop of your choice instead of being under the gun to find a place in an hour when its midnight .

I was told that the personal conveyance rule will now allow you to use it even if your NOT unladen.

Is there any truth to this?

I'm gonna be burning it up now. Bout time they made a rule with a little bit of common sense with it.

Unless I have an absolute need, I never open the door for someone's interpretation.

Well said. Shippers and receivers now have no incentive to get drivers off property on a timely basis.

This is great news. I can't tell you how many fights I've had with receivers and shippers who kept me forever loading or unloading and when I ran out of HOS, they then say "well you can't sleep here."

Thank God. Now I can just drive until I find a rest spot. Works for me. They had no incentive to get done with us quickly anyway, at least this way I don't have to battle with them.

Luckily on the east coast there is a McDonald's just down the road with plenty of parking at 23:00. At least that's what shippers all seem to tell me.
