There are companies that will hire you. The problem you will have is you won't be able to pick and choose much. You might as well get your CDL, get a job (any job gets you some experience) any job. Just DO NOT let them run you illegal. Then after everything has fallen off your print out, you can be choosy.

The companies that will hire you probably won't pay very much. They know you don't have much of a choice. I guess it depends on how much money you need and your situation. It sounds like you are trying to turn your life around. If you're serious about it just knock on doors until some one answers. Don't get discouraged by the negative answers. The only thing that matters is that one "yes".

But if you knock too long you'll find the shelf life of your training has expired . Carriers say a certificate that is months old with no experience is no longer valid .

the statutory limit is 7 years but you may want to invest a couple of hundred dollars and get the charges expunged from the system to erase the history (but I don't think it affects the arrest record in the NCIC - national crime information center)...try the same lawyer that defended you in each case..they already made money off you in the past so they are less likely to overcharge for what is mainly a paperwork filing. since your last incident was 2006 you may need to wait until next year for the better jobs. another idea is to contact some hiring managers at companies in your local area and see what their criteria is....who knows, you may come across one that is willing to give you a shot.

I'm a bit unclear on what you mean by statutory limit (If there is a "statute" I would appreciate it if you could fill me in). I know it's common practice that criminal background searches "generally" only go back 7 years (Generally because county clerks stop at 7 years) and many companies are not interested prior to 7 years, but conviction records for criminal offences exist unless expunged.

You do know that NCIC is for law enforcement eyes only, and therefore employers have no access. Also to use "arrest" records rather than conviction records for employment purposes is a slope employers do not want to fall down, or at least not get caught going down.

    Best regards
