I have a huge problem with someone if they're working in our country and cant speak English well enough to hold a conversation. expecially when it comes to said person driving a CMV. I dont care about their situation or how many kids they have to feed!!!

I don't know any Iraqi but I know a hell of a lot of of afghans that have come here, and I'd sponsor them all. They are more American then most born and bred Americans are. They have guts and they only want a better life.
That may be true, but does not mean we should ignore basic vetting and checking people out. Some years ago,Dick Simon hired a felon recently out of prison in CA. He rammed the rig into the capital steps in Sacramento,killing only himself. The other questions I have re foreign student drivers are: Why do firms need them? Driver retention problem? Are they getting big IRS tax credits for hiring them?
Could be, but a motivated muzzy without a cdl or knowing how to drive one, is at a serious disadvantage. The one trained and hired now has training, access and a paycheck...

I'll give you one. It was a rented Jeep Cherokee. Google 2006 UNC SUV Attack. Read the Wikipedia entry. Here is a quote from the driver. "I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohamed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree." In March 2006, Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, an Iranian-American, intentionally, as he confessed, hit people with a sport utility vehicle on the campus of the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill to "avenge the deaths of Muslims worldwide" and to "punish" the United States government. While no one was killed in the terror ramming attack, nine people were injured (none seriously). Shortly after the attack, he turned himself in and was arrested. He pled guilty to nine counts of attempted first-degree murder, and in 2008 was sentenced to 33 years in prison, on two counts of attempted murder.[2] In one letter, Taheri-azar wrote, "I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohamed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree."[3] Local Muslim leaders condemned the attack and the attempt by the assailant to link the Qur'an to his actions.
