I applied for this in my state (PA). Went through their whole process including one ##### of an exam that proves you can read and know math. 1 week before I was to start school I was told that they ran out of money for this program. So now I'm trying to figure out how to finance my training without committing to a mega for a year or more. I'll probably do a loan then try to sign on with a company that gives tuition reimbursement. Good luck.

That sucks. I am told they just got funded so keeping fingers crossed. Went today for orientation and filled out all the forms. They said they may call me as early as tomorrow.

That's what happened to me in Ohio. They said I put myself thru school once (bachelors degree) and was "marketable" they weren't going to "allow" me to change careers?!?!?!...... Even though the military cuts were what cost me my job, the same government programs I paid into for 20 years said they weren't going to help me.

I originally wanted to go this route, a good option if you can get approved. Here in MI I think you have to be career welfare recipient to get anything though lol plus they said ran out of money, not sure about their budgeting or if they're going to loan for trucking anymore, etc.

Hopefully it will work for you but If not try finding a local beverage and/or food distribution company, That's what I am doing and the company is paying for all my CDL stuff and I get paid $20 hr full-time while working the warehouse too. much better than starving halfway across the country making 30cpm with some mega carrier.
