This might be a dumb question but I still want to know. Is there anyway to stop my hours of service time or can I get it back afterwards.

Once you start it doesn't stop. You have 14 hrs from that precise minute.

What about sleeper berth provision. I thought 8 hours in sleeper stopped clock. If you had 6 left before still have it. I don't fully understand it so I dont use it to be safe. I'm starting December 28th with elog company so I'll probably learn it lol.

Once you start your day, you have 14 hours to play with. There is a provision to 'pause' the 14 hour clock by using 8 hours in the sleeper. So you'll by using whatever was left over from your 14 and 11 hour clocks after 8 hours in the sleeper. Usuallly drivers are pretty good about understanding if they drove 3 hours they have 8 hours left after the sleeper break, or 4 hours they have 7 or 5 hours they have 6 left over and so on. Where most drivers get a violation is forgetting that they used 10 hours of their 14 and come back after 8 in the sleeper and only have 4 hours left on the 14 for example but perhaps 5 hours available onthe 11 and go into violation.

True. I'm good at keeping track of my split sleeper, but when I have that blonde moment, my QC does it for me.
