Update, problem solved. It was indeed my filters. I changed both of them in a J parking lot this afternoon. Messy job to do on the road. I had to borrow a strap wrench. I strongly recommend any new O/O's keep a strap wrench in your tool box and a gallon jug or 1 gallon gas can somewhere. You can bungee one of these about anywhere under the truck. I've been keeping them on my personal truck for years.
Never leave home without:
nitrile gloves
spare filters
strap wrench
gallon jug or can
I'm going to add a collapsible bucket too for oil, coolant or fuel spills, hose fixes, etc. These fluids are getting too expensive to dump on the ground.
Fuel filter change on the side of the road.

Hi guys. I think I have this same issue on my Volvo VNL 670. After the fuel gelled 3 weeks ago and we changed the filters to another brand, the truck a week later started to act out. Just within the last week it turns on fine but after a few miles the "Change Fuel Filters" message appears and then the truck dies. Battery's are brand new. It has an electric prime machine so I can not prime manually. I have gone through 3 different sets of filters and the issue still happens. Any advice? I am going back to the old brand I had before the issues occurred, hoping that helps. Only codes that showed up on the mechanics side were a bad EGR value failed automatic, self calibration procedure, and Safety Restraint System. Mechanic doesn't think any of those codes are the issue. Thanks in advance.

I'd start a new thread on your issue. Also, I only use Volvo fuel filters or Baldwin from the dealership. My dealer sells them to me as cheap as I can find online. Is your mechanic a Volvo dealer or independent?
Rico Trucking Thanks this.
