Alright, I'm finally pulling the trigger on this. Gave my work 2 weeks notice and starting 160 Driving Academy here near STL on Oct 9.
Been talking to Maverick for regional flatbed afterward, and looks like they can reimburse my tuition if I decide to go with them. So that's my plan for now!
Can you guys say this is a safe way to go? From what I hear Maverick is a great company, especially for newbies. I would love to be home every night, but I realize that might not be possible for 0 experience guys.
And before someone says "flatbed is a lot of work," I realize that, but I think I will be fine considering my previous job experience working package delivery for fedex.
    Thanks!

Maveric flatbed and STL should be a good fit for regular hometime and consistent work, also a good place/mode to start with

As Jake the young lad on Two and a Half Men one said, you can't get ducks in a row there too willy-nilly.

Maverick has very good flatbed securement training & seems to be a good company. There are "home daily" jobs in most places like dump trucks, trash hauling, construction, soda/beer, etc.

I like tuition reimbursement after you find s company. Finding a company that suits you is the biggest factor in stayin in trucking or being out within a year. I think Maverick is a good choice for some drivers.
