If it has any viscosity and is filled up pretty good you will barely feel it. Unlike alot of non viscous chemical loads. Worst load I ever hauled was antifreeze they could only load like 5,000 gals in a 7,000 gal tank. I tell you what it felt like a car rear ended me at stop lights lol.

lol!!! Yea,I was wondering if that was maybe a trick question. But I am really not scared at all.
I will have respect for it but why have white knuckles?

I think they asked because they once had a guy with under a year of dry van experience freak out and say he would not drive it during his road test.

Yes it is the skinny trailer and I believe he said it was about 7 pounds a gallon.....
I really think after the first run I will be fine.

Look at the bright side; you probably won't have to pull THIS maneuver!

When I first started hauling corn syrup it would slam me around pretty hard but after about a week I was shifting like a pro and not minding the surge at all. Once I got used to it I realized that my shifting was responsible for the trouble I had at the beginning.

I've been pulling a smooth bore for over 5 years now. There is no big deal to surge in my opinion. Doesn't matter how smooth you shift eventually you get hit, no big deal really.

Just remember, this forum ascribes almost mythical capabilities to surge. Oh the things I've heard on here!

Aghhh, this thread brings back memories. Back in the early eighties, hauled Butane, and Natural Gas,and propane, in thermal bottle(compressed tanker). The weights would change depending on temperature. Going back and forth through the "grapevine" (I-5), back roads outside of Bakersfield's, etc.... The sloshing compresses liquid never bothered me, but I knew what I was hauling so I never took advantage of it. When I would max out on weight, maybe a few over on the drives or trailer, the red light would come on in the coops, they would tell me, back up driver......I would back up and when I heard the word STOP, I would hit the brakes hard. That liquid would be sloshing back and forth, they couldn't get a good scale reading and the green light would go on, be on my way. Miss those days.....

Actually I am looking forward to something new.......Tired of the shippers, receivers and all the waiting.
I am glad this is a regional deal and home every other night or more on most deliveries.

The truck is a 2016 with 8000 miles on it so that is not bad.Too bad it is a Cascadia but they did spec it out nice.
It has the higher level interior and gauge package.
It was supposed to come with the fridge but they ordered it and will have it installed when it comes in.
Governed at 75 so I can live with that.

It took me a few weeks to tame surge. Most of the time I only feel surge if I brake harder than usual or if I'm in stop and go traffic. If the product likes to move a lot, I will feel a light jiggle when I float gears. I think I've hauled asphalt, or something similar, before and I remember it being about medium on the surge scale. Good luck with your surge taming goals for 2016.
Oh, and mainly you want to shift smoothly and go slowly through curves.
