Maybe you guys can confirm or debunk this for me. A few years ago I was sitting in construction while they were paving. I made a comment on the CB that they just did this stretch of road a while back. Then an asphalt hauler came back and told me get used to it because the new environmentally friendly asphalt doesn't last as long and that's why the roads suck.

    Truth?

    Rank,
The stuff I haul is waterproofing for buildings. It looks like tar.

I have heard the new stuff for asphalt is different,
I'm sure one of the guys will chime in on that one.

The roads suck because of what's under the asphalt ..... As the Romans taught us a road is all about it's base. And we don't want to do anything the right way (it costs to much) so they just pave over it. Looks good for a year or three but doesn't last......

The only thing environmently friendly about asphalt is they recycle it. Grind up the old road and mix it back in with the new (sometimes up to 30%)...

These days they put lots of additives in the asphalt . Polymers to help stop ruts. Wax so they can make the mix at a lower temperature etc.....Almost nothing is old fashioned asphalt . The mix is better than ever.

    My dopey thoughts .....

    Nice looking Mack!

We talked about the chrome visor.....I think they are going to do that with the bumper install...
Also the chrome LED strip for the sides of the cab....That should be plenty of upgrades.

Thanks QC takes care of their corporate drivers. It's really a dual exhaust you just can't see it. You'll get mixed reviews on the affiliate side of the company.
