Most youtube truckers are horrible role models to follow, not all of them but most. There is the fat cringey crybaby neckbeard, the bald dick knuckle that likes to watch people mess up without helping and trash talk them, the ones you can tell run about 800 miles a week just from what they say. "Didn't get much done yesterday, was super tired." yet they find time to edit hours of footage to post a youtube video 300 people are going to watch.

That said, Knight is a place to go if you only want to drive sometimes. Most of their drivers I talk to are on some weird part time crap with weeks of hometime at a time.

Several YouTube Prime flatbed drivers quit in December. Big companies have drivers coming & going all year.

By the time you pull the trigger things at Knight could be a whole lot different.

I can't believe you're still 'looking into' it, JUST DO IT! :)

They suck. I went to their orientation and wasn't impressed. I mean, they suck. I listened to their fat steaming load of horse dung for three days before they sent me back home on Greyhound for no reason whatsoever. They also said they'd pay me $100 for orientation, where's my money punk. . . never paid me. Told me to kick rocks when I asked about it.

Knight has a lot of rules that can get you fired pretty quickly. You are not allowed to do U turns on a public road no matter what. If you have a camera in your truck, the inertial sensors can determine when you are doing one, so you're busted! U turns are something that no driver wants to do, but they can be pulled off safely.

You are not allowed to ever park on the side of the road, called the "No sitting duck policy". Once again, there are places that this can be done safely and is permissible in some urban areas when there just aren't any other options. So you are forced to drive past your 11 hours to reach the terminal in Fontana after delivering your hay load in the downtown Los Angeles area. Sorry but, I'm not doing that and risk an expensive ticket if I get caught and a lawsuit if I have a serious accident.

No alcohol consumption while in possession of company property. This means you cannot check in to a hotel and have a beer at Dennys while doing a reset away from the house. Oh sure, you can get away with it, but what if you don't?

I parked my truck in July with them and am not rehireable because I quit without notice and under load, although the reason I quit had nothing to do with them. Look on Craigslist PHX, there are lots of companies in search of CDL A drivers.

I must say that I wouldn't mind going back to them, even with all the rules, but they won't even respond to my emails. Maybe I'll have to call up Kevin Knight when I get to PHX and talk to him. During the third day of orientation, they take the group up to the corporate headquarters to tour the facility and have a lunch at the company cafeteria.

I pretty much ran from PHX to CA and then up and down interstate 5. It got very comforting and predictable there for a while, kind of like falling into a good groove. Then I quit because of some other B.S.
