Good Night From II

Sorry, I didn't see it.
I had heard about the raise, but didn't know how much.
As I said, it was a nice surprise.

Maybe I am just out of the loop in life.
I never actually try to make things different or better, but things have always gotten better.
Well, some things I could do without, but for the most part...

Some things have never changed. like the people I work with.

other didn't make it here last nite due to high winds.
waiti.g for him and gonna wait till sun ces up by I leave..
mostly rained last nite but a snow shower just went thru.
winds are suppose to be around 20 mph today.
my load I am giving him is 39000 and the one he is giving me is 20000

 

Don't know the town, but on I-24 at the border of KY and TN.
I picked up a load in Clarksville, TN.
Funny how appointment times get mixed up between Swift and the shipper, and I had to wait to be worked in because I was late.
4+ hours, which makes my next load late as well.

Also funny how all the loads out of anywhere near here are the only load going to my region.
One load only, so better take it.

There is a new Love's here, and I had hoped to get a shower.
But at 1715 when I got here every spot was taken. I had to find a different place to park.
Oh well.

 

Sounds like Oak Grove, Ky. Son in law just retired from US Army last May after 20 years Blackhawk pilot. Been there quite often.

 

When I woke up this morning the power was out,
It wasn't until left that I noticed it.
Every power pole on that street was snapped off at the base, so all the lines were down.
It seems a tornado went through last night and pretty much kept to the street area. I didn't see any damage to the Marathon or the Love's across the street.

 

Thank God you are alright. There were some really powerful storms thru that area.

 

I know. I would have hated have been caught in that big one that tore through 4 states.

 

You dodged a bullet. Or maybe a Howitzer!

 

I really didn't dodge anything. I was asleep at the time.

And many others as well that night.
The destruction was laid down right along the street that two truck stops straddled. But as far as I could tell, nothing else was damaged.

pilot was full so I came here for the nite.
loads been scares last few day in jurupa valley terminal.
so my dl sent me to Huntington Beach to pick this load up.
alot of rain today.
checked the weather and it was snowing from here to paragon UT. so I decided to stop here.
leave when it gets lite and hope it stops snowing
