Oh, i put zero thought into sunk costs. Loyalty=$0. The bottom dollar is the dollar. It's just business. You hit the nail on the head though, usually higher 401k contributions and that glorious vacation time!

I was dedicated. No mty searching.
When I was a regular company driver it sucked, but that was when the other dude was in charge and he didn't think that having the necessary amount of trailers was a big deal for a trucking company. But dedicated, we picked up a loaded trailer, delivered it live, bought the trailer back to the brewery, and picked up the next days load.

All The People I worked with were Wonderful except for the Regional Area "manager".
He admitted to several of us that he "stole a couple of switch trucks" from Alpharetta, GA.
The Trucks no one in Alpharetta would drive.
The H.Q., at that time of the Eastern Division.
He was good while through the hiring process, then turned the other cheek.
I was set up to be on SECOND shift, but he claimed "i need help on first".

So I helped until I saw the BIG picture.

At the time, I read and heard about some locations of lousy spot that seemingly had zero issues, but they were in other states.

GOOD LUCK with lousy spot. It may be good, it may be not. You'll KNOW soon enough, especially if they switch Your agreed upon shift.

Well Val, if they switch my agreed upon spot, that would put me on days...lol.
They just run 2 shifts, 364 days a year. 6-6.

    Yeah, no.
I appreciate the confidence, but no.
    I just want something uncomplicated.
Show up at 6, leave at 6.
    No big deal.

The night shift isn’t without its charm. It’s just that sleeping during the day I couldn’t handle.
