I'm waitng for the update from the O.P. after he has actually been hired and employed for a while.

Being accepted for orientation is just the first step.

Yeah, I got 2 weeks before I leave for orientation, but I got 2 pre hires so if one don't work I will move on to the next in which I have my orientation dates set a week or 2 apart so if company #1 don't work out then I'm off to company #2 either way I will keep trying until I get hired somewhere and I will...

Thanks, I got Westin Express as a back up just in case something goes wrong at SWIFT. I am really not into pulling Flatbed, but I will be if I had to.

I tell u this, what it sounds like is once your probation is done an all your fines are paid it will go down to a mis... here in arizona it called a undesignated felony which means it shows as a felony until everything is paid an an probation is finish u must go to court to make sure i would check on that one thing about the court sytem exspecially dealing with public defenders they wont explain #### check your paper work.

Second people who dont have a felony conviction will probally never under stand until its them or somebody close to them its easy to pass judgment on somebody u dont have to face but if it was there son or daughter they probally be saying their child cant even get a chance or them. i see it all the time. Let me be the first to say They could have giving me a PHD on how to be a complete dumn #####. I dont blame my upbringing but it is what it is i aint the first an i aint going to be the last....

Third every state has different laws. If u ever get in trouble in Arizona u are screwed a far as your record Az has a no spunge policy once a ex con always there.

I will tell u what motivated me, Being a felon for the last 8 years i have not had 1 job everywhere i go i get turned down im out all day everyday looking for work. As a felon i have learned if i wasnt for my record i would be in a suit an tie making top dollars some where. The reality of it to me is this, I see great jobs all over the usa trucking an everywhere else, i dont have any e- con friend which might be a good start for u, but people without records will tell thereselfs why they cant do a job. disqualift there selfs. Its been my attitude an being persitent that has led me that way as long as the company is hiring an i dont care if its for President of the company apply yea i never got those jobs but being told no doesnt bother me..

I caught my first felony at 18 fresh out of high school, i had never had a job filled out a application or anything as far as a job. Not being able to gain employment sucked but for me never having a job i never knew what i was missing. I stated watching people with good work ethics a writing stuff down men an women look at what people complain about at work, learn how to use that to your advantage. Like i have said before ive spent alot of time just talking to people trying to find a way, it has paid off an it was worth everthing i went threw.

When it comes to trucking the reason why i wanted to get in the feild is cuase everytime i see a fat sloppy trucker i say to myself hell if this person can do it anybody can with the right attitude. Im not trying to insult anybody an sorry if i have but people are really lazy now an days an they run from hard work well i embrace it an look forward to it an companys love that. even though it took me 6 months after i reicieved my CDL plu a year in a half of research i finally got a job...

Another thing i did when i felt desperate, an yes i happens to the best of us you are not alone it feels that way sometimes i know, But i started going to the truck stops an just hanging out talking to other trucker. Now i dont know weather its the truth or not but i found a bunch of oo willing to hire me once i got some training. I will check on them once i have 6months to a year ex.

good luck on your quest u will be fine....

While I'very never been convicted of anything, it's good to see people not only turning their lives around, but helping others in the process. it's amazing how eager people are in all industries, to discount someone just because of mistakes made. My brother gets out of prison in September, so thanks for being encouraging, Cwill
