Bridges? I know there are bridges going from the US to Canada. Or do we call roads connecting countries bridges?

I thought maybe the US-Mexican border was closed because I haven't drove down there to pick up any donations. And Mexicans are known for being huge donators of blood plasma.

Right now the bridge in Brownsville to Matamoras is open, but traffic is majorly reduced. That being said CSL is causing Brownsville problems with the Cameron county orders for social distancing. They'll cross days in advance, then camp on the sidewalks around the building, sometimes even going to the back of the line after they donate since it can take 2 days to get back to the doors.

I agree, I think they should have to live like the common man. Live by the bills they pass.

All of them should have term limits, no salary for life (I had to serve 20 years in the military to receive half of my pay), their pay raises should be COLA (how the VA and SS get theirs) Pay should be what the Federal Minimum Wage is. No government Retirement, they should have to collect SS like the rest of us. They also should get the same healthcare that we receive.

Maybe then we would get people in there who cares about doing what is right, instead of enriching themselves.

If the wages would of stayed up with inflation from the '80's we wouldn't be in this situation.

The CEO's make 100's of thousand more than their employees now compared to then. If workers wages would of increases every year by $0.94 an hour (that is $150 a month for a 40 work week) We would have pretty much the same lifestyle that our parents / grandparents had. 1 person working. A comfortable house and a decent car. That way you would have more family time and kids who see there parents. That is what a living wage is.

I unfortunately know many people who have two income homes and are barely making it. These people aren't living above their means either, with a big house and fancy cars.

That's real. I agree with everything said. I will say, that in learning about business in recent years, profit isn't as big as people think. Lots of palms have to be greased. I think that has something to do with why people dont make liveable wages. It costs businesses so much just to even operate and put people to work

There are probably a lot of worthwhile things to read in this thread but I just can't abide with people who use 'of' in place of 'have' or sundry other niggling little grammar errors we all should have learned to avoid in grade school. I know I'm supposed to pick my battles carefully and all, but I just can't take you seriously when I'm imagining you speaking like a first grader.
