Just go get it, most all companies will be switching to autos soon enough anyways.

Or stay where you're at now. You get paid for 50hours/week and probably sleep in your own bed every night.

First year with a crap company you'll probably make less than you make now, working 70+ hours weekly and never be home.

You'll have to attend a trucking company school then. I listed some that hire in your area.

Most all the schools are required by law to use manual trucks for training. The question to ask is if you test out in one.

Tip from a former parent. Mine are grown.

Swallow your #### pride and take the training. Straight or auto. Then get a good job

Ok I get it but you do know your picking and choosing thing that don't matter. Really they don't.

Get your cdl and way you can, get in a truck, put a few grand aside for bills and to retake your road test I'm a manual and be done with it.

But the longer you sit on the fence, the more everything is passing you by.

And like others who claim this is a dream, here is reality, there are enough trucking companies out there who run automatics that you will never be without an opportunity. A lot of the crap people scaling to new drivers is just that, crap, you can do pretty well with a restriction as you can do without.

I wanted to be a painter back in the day.. Houses not art. But the company.. Sorry sobs insisted I train with a paint gun.. Not a brush. They insisted it was more efficient and better and everybody else was doing it.. And using paint brushes was a thing of the past.. Only for special types of jobs. But even though i didnt know jack crap about painting i insisted on training with a brush just because. I dint want to be a half ### painter. So after insulting everybody in the painting industry on the internet.. I became a truck driver instead.
