be prepared to fill out paper work and go for a urine test.

all just a matter of insurance company policy.

Not trying to be a buster, but B&G is correct. OP had options.

    1. California in a semi running in the middle lane.
    2. Doofus running below the minimum speed in the hammer lane.
Bad situation. Very bad. At the very least, he could have possibly avoided the whole ordeal by switching to the number 3 lane. It’s not whether or not you’re at fault, it’s avoiding a bad situation all together.

I had an incident about two years ago where I was in the right lane, coming by an on ramp that eventually turned into an exit. I needed that exit, so I checked, double checked, started over and hit a small Toyota that I didn't see. Tore the car up pretty good. I noticed he has out of state plates.

He gets out and begins cussing me out, and rightfully so. I screwed up, I admit that. I realized this wasn't going to be an exchange insurance info and move on type of thing, given the way this clown was acting. So I started back to the truck, he asks what I'm doing. Told him I'm calling cops to settle this. He jumps in his car and leaves.

I called the cops, they made a report and told me not to worry about anything, that there was a good reason he didn't want the cops involved. I never heard anything about it.

Had something simular last year. Moron ran a stop and i plowed into him. First is the police investigation. Next the insurance will likely talk to you as will safety of the company your leased to or drive for if applicible just to gather your side of the story, your video more or less clears you. You MIGHT get a D&A test may not. Depends on the state and company for that. Also as this was a hit and run ontop of likey a DUI you MIGHT get summoned to court as a witness.

Otherwise pretty much nothing. Him being a drunk and running basically clears you of any wrongdoing especially because you called the cops and waited.
