Hard starting and Davco 382 leak down issue

Chris.the whole filter housing assembly is very inexpensive.changing it is not that hard.I work on alot of these engines.I'm sorry,but I think I'm right on this one.good luck!

 

So you are agreeing with me right? Change the filter assembly with the primer pump and all? I've heard these are problem areas and it has an internal check valve that goes bad in it as well.

 

sorry.i should have spoken more clearly.if the pump is not leaking externally,probably not it.what i meant to say is sorry,it's injector cups.

 

Ok I Gottcha. I may take a shot at replacing the pump first because it's inexpensive. But if that doesn't help then I agree, it's probably in the head.

hello Chris, I have similar problem with my truck ,spoke with mechanic at dealer ship in OH and he said VED 12 don't have problem with return check valve or fuel pump often I agree with member QUALITYTRUCK ,like he saying Cups can be issues or injections .I'm not having mix coolant and fuel in my system, but I have problem like you longer to start, when truck start runs good. I will keep you update if I find problem.
