Like cranky yanky said,Prime will reimburse you up to the equalvilant of a bus ticket. If shuttle won't pick you up at the airport you may have to take a taxi and I think Prime will reimburse you for that.Just make sure you keep all your receipts.

I rented a car one way. Got it on Priceline. Car was 180, company reimbursed me 250. Bus would have been 42 hrs with 3 or 4 changes...
I didnt vcare about the hrs, it wss trying to sleep on a moving bus and being exausted when I showed up. I wasnt broke so I got hotel, slept like a baby, drove myself, and was ready to go first day...

If you can't fly, another option is the Amtrak.
It takes about as long as the bus, costs about the same (YMMV) as the bus, but the seats recline better and have leg rests, there's more room in general, and the clientele is slightly less crazy and smelly. You can also get up and walk around and go to the bathroom without it being a major production. Plus, there's often a food car.
I got the free Amtrak app for my phone and it works great. You can look for trains, make reservations, buy an e-ticket right there and then when you board you just show them the screen of your smart phone with the e-ticket on it. They scan it and you're good to go.
    Train beats bus.

Yup. J&R Schugel flew me from MA to Minneapolis, MN. Then picked me up and we drove for like a hour to the New Ulm Terminal.

I hate Greyhound. But I don't fly either (nearly half a century old and never been on a plane). But I do rent cars....and I am more than happy to pay the difference between a bus ticket and car rental/gas.

My hatred towards buses is not necessarily the clientele that I'd be sharing a ride with....it is the long, grueling, ride itself. They stop at every terminal and wannabie bus stop on the way...and if you are switching buses (which you do at every terminal it seems), you have to grab your bags, and babysit them until it is time to board the next bus.

Plus you got people smacking gum in your ear on the bus too---not sure how I didn't punch someone atleat once.

Good heavens, don't take the bus. The bus is one step above hitch hiking. If you have a little time, you can get a cheap flight, or rent a car, or train is ok too. My daughter took the train a few times, and had a great experience. Very nice people,(who are afraid to fly),nice scenery, and reasonable too, and much faster than the bus, with none of the ilk.

The only thing riding the bus will do for you is prep you for 75% of truckstops around the country, piss, stink, slow, long waits and poor service.I can't believe some people that think we are better than someone else just because we choose another form of transport.

Bus stations and buses really do attract crazy stinky people.
Try it sometime. It's the lowest denominator of public transportation short of walking.

The best place to be on a bus is in the very front row across from the driver. If something happens, you're going right through that windshield for sure. :biggrin_25521:
