How much experience do you actually have . You made it sound like you’re going through their cdl program

Well I went to Schneider with 3 months experience and they treated me like a 10 yr experienced driver.
The experienced class had 2 people the newbie class had probably 30 that’s gonna be a much longer process -

@Labrador, you just need to HANG IN THERE!
Schneider was (and still is) VER-RY BIG on sleep apnea compliance.
You will probably need to send them a compliance report every 3 months.
Also--these days....for several different reasons, things are just more dysfunctional than ever--and everything now takes longer, and/or more effort and/or more money......than it really should.
If you have not already learned it, elsewhere--your first year (and beyond) of trucking will tax your patience, repeatedly.
Trucking is NOT a good place for people who expect/need quick results.
Schneider hired me.....when others would not (due to a shaky job history).
Now I haul fuel (hazmat tanker), for another carrier.
Stick with it, stay the course--and don't give up.
The world respects and rewards those who outlast the problem.
Because of where the economy is likely heading--being with a very large carrier is probably a good idea right now.
If things don't later pan out with Schneider, because of your location in California--I would try out Swift, next.
But play things out completely with Schneider--first.
Once you get on/in with them--try to stay with them at least a year--preferably longer.
Your main goal at this point is to make yourself as appealing as possible to your next employer.
Thus--stay with Schneider AT LEAST a year (longer is better), and....in the meantime....DON'T HIT ANYTHING.

I really appreciate the advice. I do plan to stay with them, I hope to get good training and guidance from them.
.stuckinthemud Thanks this. -
Their "training engineers" are some of the most professional people I've ever met--in ANY industry.
Schneider will also give you a trucking "bible"....that I gather most other companies don't.
This "bible" is something EVERY new driver should get--and read (cover to cover).
They make a "bible" version for dry van, intermodal, and tanker.
You should start out with the "dry van" version.
Keep us posted.
