hauling a bus??

yup, i have hauled over highth as well as over width and over weight, certainly not my area of expertise, but i do know to watch out for low bridges. although that does bring up another question, as far as where exactly it is located if its in a residential, power lines/cable tv/phone might be a issue getting it out of there.

 

273 miles. 4 hour drive. Whatdayathink...a couple grand? It may be a bargain instead of trying to get the thing running, or pulling it up some trailer and renting some high dollar trailer.

Yup...$2000-2500 may be a bargain.

 

I bet a wrecker would be 1500 tops.

 

Especially if you went and worked your regular job that day and just helped them with money. Same wear and tear just pay someone and still helping them just not how they imagined.

 

This is sage advice, I get myself in more messes by saying "sure I'll help ya" then I always think what the heck did I get myself into.

 

Bet it'd be more. Cost me $1200 Can. for a wrecker to haul my truck 2 hours from the field I bought it in to my place. And that was a simple back in, hook on and go since it was pulled backwards.

 

Had a friend of a friend ask me about moving a yacht, because the people that specialize in moving yachts were "too expensive." He was one of those guys that wanted to be a fat cat, without really having fat cat money. He had a mid 90s Dodge Viper with a messed up hood because a new hood would cost $15000. He had a pretty girlfriend who stuffed her bra because he didnt want to pay for her a set of boobs, but yet wanted everyone to think she had a nice rack. So then he contacts me to see if I would be willing to transport a yacht.

Not interested.

"What would it take for you to be interested?"

What the yacht movers were going to charge you PLUS 10 percent.

"Why so much?"

Because I would hire the yacht movers to get the yacht and transport it and the 10 percent is for my time.

My dad can haul buses, he has a Shipshee trailer and is plated for 80k, has 17 inch rear tires. He runs Montana some, goes through the Dakotas sometimes too. He has a winch but I'm not sure how heavy the bus is, but if there she rented an industrial forklift I know he could get it on there. He's an honest and fair person, and it would have to go through the company he's leased to, but I'm sure he would help you if he's in the area. PM me if you decide, and I will see when he's going through there again.

 

A step with ramps might not work if there isn't enough ground clearance.
