Under state licensing reciprocity agreements UT will -probably- just issue you a UT CDL, including any endorsements.

So, be careful what you admit.

Yeah, if you're a Utah resident, you'll need to have a Utah cdl to get employment with a truck company. That's a federal requirement, drivers license matching state of residency. Now if you can provide an Az. address, such as your folks or a relative/friend, you could keep your Az. cdl and work for any truck company in any state, assuming they hire you. They will think you are an Az. resident. Littlefield, Az. ain't that far from Cedar city.
BobbyMisc65 and mje Thank this. -
If you are a Utah resident you need a Utah CDL.
Do you still own the residence in Arizona?
Why wait a year to look for work?
What have you been doing for the last year?
Why did you move to Utah?BobbyMisc65 Thanks this. -

In any case I think I'll just go to the DMV and do what I need to do. People have been telling me to get my DL squared away before I attempt to look for job/training; which again makes sense. Don't want to be caught out there with my pants down so to speak.but, but, but officer!
-
Actually it's been about 2 years. Main reason I waited was because of a Brain Tumor and so I put the idea of trucking off; was never able to get rid of that itch; so I'm trying to start again where I left off. And basically just going through a off and on cycle; I want to drive; no I don't; I want to drive; no I don't..... But again, can't get rid of that itch so I want to at least give it a shot.
1. Recovering from my brain being opened up and "played with" (9 hour surgery) 2. Feeling depressed about my life 3. Trying to get healthy again; walking; diet; etc.
Moved to Utah to re-start my life and to get away from that AZ heat! I miss AZ though to be honest. -
U have to have the cdl for the state you reside in so you must change it over within the allotted time frame which dmv will gladly provide u the timeframe. Utah is a great place id love to live. Maybe the town where everyone has like 3 wives
-
UTAH = pure hell on earth.
read this then live here a while...
remember you read it...
You will then know
I am sorry for you going thru this -
Today's process is further hamstrung by the need to comply with the enhanced licensing that is becoming mandatory by 2020, you will need utitlity bills and so on among other things to get to it. A simple car license is a eye test, picture and you are on your way for a renewal. We are a free state, not a emissions sticker, historical etc. None of that crap.
Utah is not a bad place to visit or pass through. But it's not for us outsiders. (Non mormons...) -
As of August 1st. 2017, (18 days ago), one is required to have a copy of his or her birth certificate, (with a seal), his or her Social Security card, and a copy of a utility bill with name and proof of address on it, to receive a renewed KS drivers' license or KS state ID.
I had to get a new Social Security card about several weeks ago because my original Social Security card was considered invalid, due to having been laminated many years ago.
Kansas is one of the states that is complying with the Federal Real ID Act.
FORTUNATELY & THANKFULLY, Kansas drivers' licenses, along with Kansas state ID's, are accepted by the TSA at all airports throughout the United States.
Some states are having problems with this because they have not yet complied with the Federal Real ID Act. This can make it difficult for an ordinary citizen from one of these NON-compliant states to board an airplane, "down the road".
From what I have been told by the Kansas Dept. of Motor Vehicles, these NON-compliant states have until the year 2020 to get all this taken care of.
All this is taking place due to so much identity thefts and illegal immigrants in the United States of America.
It is TRULY & GENUINELY an absolute holy mess!
By the GRACE OF GOD, I was also able to pass the eye test and NOT have an optical restriction placed on my drivers' license.
NOTE:
SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, a homeless individual cannot get updated Kansas ID, due to not having an address to live at. This is TRULY & GENUINELY a very bad situation.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Aug 19, 2017
