I saw 2 Maverick trucks east bound on highway 60 this morning at Dexter,MO. They were about 30 minutes apart from each other. Those Cascadias are good looking trucks and the loads were well tarped. If everything goes as planned I should be in Little Rock April 16 to begin training. Looking forward to it and always like to see the trucks in my area.

I've been in this business a long time. Positive attitudes are like the tide, they come and go. There are days when this can be the best job ever and days when I want to kick myself in the ##### for ever getting into a truck in the first place. Right now I'm kind of in between the waves.

By the way. Yesterday was my first day in Load Securement class. There are 16 of us in there. Only one other and me are experienced drivers. The rest are students. Being a Maverick driver already, I'm the only one who can take a company car out for lunch if I want and I'd much rather use Maverick's gas than my own.

Class went well. Although I've watched 1000's if not millions of loads go down the road, I had never given it much thought as to how hard it actually was to secure those loads. So I'm as green as the other students when it comes to that. So far I'm the only former sand driver in there with others to follow in the next couple of weeks. My former Fleet Manager was in there yesterday taking his test to get back to driving.

I'm still waiting for my application to be approved. The recruiter says it's taking longer than usual because of a large amount of ap's lately and that they have been short handed.

I'm sure they've also had to wait and see how many Sand drivers were staying and what training they would need. Most of that has now been sorted out as today was the dead line for Sand drivers to let Maverick know their intentions Be patient and you'll be here before you know it.

RickSt, thanks for the encouragement. Changing careers at 51 is a little un-nerving. I look forward to meeting you and other drivers when I get there.

I've been a trucker for day or two and I always have a positive attitude but the problem is I'm surrounded by #######es. LOL

Well finally got home Friday at five was stuck out last week. So far on the new US dedicated been doing a lot of granite city to Jeffersonville Indiana. I call it wash rinse and repeat. We say boring. My new home is Evansville Indiana I spent five nights a week there. Last Thursday picked up out of granite city and ran down the Jackson Mississippi. Then US loaded us out of Birmingham Alabama back to St. Louis. Then went back to Wash rinse and repeat for the week. Friday loaded for Jeffersonville Indiana for Monday delivery they told me take it home and deliver Monday. I wasn't about to argue 300 miles out of route.

Have a preplanned for Monday load granite city for east Chicago Indiana might have to break out the map. LOL

Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride
