I was on RT 79 beween Weston WV. and Morganntown WV. today and saw 3 Maverick day cabs with empty flatbeds. Does anyone know what they do in that neck of the woods?

Well I went over around 08:15.....could not resist..There was a PI&I truck already there. He did not get his coil off until 0900 and then they got mine off right away after that.
I headed back to the truck stop and made some coffee and waited.
Got a load about 45 minutes later for a pick up at Gerdau Ameristeel in Petersburg Va for 1500. It was around 10:30. So I was going to have a long wait.
So I headed down to the pilot South of Richmond. Went in took a nice long shower and then just kicked back.
The work order said you could check in 30 minutes before or after.
So I time my arrival so I am there right at 30 minutes ahead of time.
There are about 6 trucks in line ahead of me. I got out and looked and they were not moving forward. I went up and asked the one driver if they were just waiting for their time and he said yes, so I went around them.
I check in and she asks what time my appointment was. I tell her 1500.
She asks me why did I think it was ok to cut in front of those other drivers who were waiting. I explained that my instructions were 30 minutes and I would not have intentionally cut in front of them. She laughs and says Well you will have to deal with them. (They had no idea I cut in front of them..honest mistake.)
I go down and meet my loader and I could tell this guy was a grumpy guy.
To say the least it was not a fun experience as he lacked good communication skills.
It all worked out and we were shaking hands by the time it was over.
This was a load of beams which had to be tarped.
It took me one hour to secure and tarp it...so it was not too bad.

On the way back I decided to stop at a truck stop that sewerman had told me about. The only problem was it was not the correct one. So I ended up turning around in a roadway truck terminal so I could get back on the expressway. Stopped and talked to one of their drivers and he was understanding...I guess we have all had to turn around at some point...lol.
Spent the night at the petro at Raphine Va. The parking lot is so long that they have a shuttle to take you up to the building.
I thought I would have myself a nice hot breakfast in the morning.
The waitress brought me the menu and then stood there and talked to another lady. There was only me and another person in there.
So I just got up and left. Figured I could get a hot breakfast when I got home.
Made it home yesterday around 14:30.
I will need to head out tomorrow morning.
I am going to Jonesburg MO...Steel Pipe and Supply. There is a Flying J right at the exit and they are only 3 miles down the road.
Going to watch the Buckeyes play Kansas in the semi final tonight and also Louisville and KY
    Go Bucks!
    Everyone have a great weekend!:biggrin_25525:

Just got back after 2 weeks out. Our choice. Could not believe how quickly everyone loaded and unloaded us. Ghent only took 2 hrs to load including tarping from the time we pulled in. Port of Wilmington got us in and out in 3 hrs. That was including getting a day pass. Really need that TWIC card. Other places were ready as soon as we pulled in. Wish it could always be that way.

Just wondering. Any advice or insight? We still have a 2007 trainer truck. Nice to have the bunks and air ride for my seat. We still keep hearing new truck soon. My question is: If we paid for it would they install air ride in the passenger seat on the new one? At this point wishing we could keep #27834 but do want an APU and inverter.

Yes they will install it for you BUT they may require it to stay with the truck Im not sure. You also may ask if they would switch the air ride seat from your current truck. Never hurts to ask.

Thought about having it switched but it does need a seat cover. Wouldn't look pretty in a new truck. Let's just say VERY worn look. Thanks

Yeah, I have been wondering when I will receive my TWIC card too.... I remember the Orientation Instructors telling us when I went thru Orientation in November that we (the class) were filling out the paperwork for it (and would be charged like $52 or something out of our first several paychecks).... I haven't heard anything about it since, and have not received it in the mail or anything. Does anyone have any idea about this? If I filed for it and paid for it, I would like to receive it. Chime in if you know about this.

You will still need to make a trip down and get photgraphed ect at the twic office...then you will have to wait for the card to come back.
Or did you guys make that trip already?
