It's called Cookin' From Scratch on the south side of the freeway, east side of the surface road. You'll see a sign for it before you get to it...from either direction. I've had the fried chicken and the hot roast beef sandwich. Both were deeee-lish.

Just a quick update in case anyone is interested... Made it to Kansas so far in my noble though admittedly rough-riding steed.

Good news first: The ride itself isn't quite as bad as I expected (the 3k pounds of plate i loaded on the back helped a little ) and she actually holds 60 on the freeway! Also I'm getting a whopping 8.5 mpg!!! which is probably as good as my chevy gets at home.

The bad news: as one of the many mechanics I've met in the last week pointed out, she's got a bad case of "lot rot." I fixed most of the air leaks myself, but when all 3 transfer case seals started pissing oil I started looking for a shop. After a couple strikes (including one freight shaker deal who had me show up at 7am and wait till 1pm to tell me there was a 76 hour wait for the shop! And one shadetree mechanic who managed to dump about 3 quarts of gear oil down his sleeve before catchy a chip of smething in his eye and call it a night) I ended up in Kansas city at inland truck parts, and they hooked me up.

Thanks again everyone who chipped in their 2 cents on my adventure!

    Onward & upward...

    Was this a question ?
If you had ended the question with a question mark we would have known it was a question .
But thanks for asking . My search to reply lead me to this . http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/21/us-oshkosh-icahn-idUSTRE7BK2AC20111221
This merger would be very bad for Oshkosh . It would probably end up like Autocar being bought by Volvo . A great line of trucks died . Navistar is only interested in low production cost and has already moved some production to Mexico .

Don't know about Kansas, but I-70 exit 19 in colorado has a great BBQ spot. Loco Coyote T/S on the right as you exit. BBQ place is across the street next to the Viet Nam Vets memorial.
