Has anybody ever used the Pittsburgh power hi flow mufflers?? If so what kind of performance differance did you notice if any? Also whats the sound like on them? I like sound but dont want it to be a headache lol. I heard they are deep toned and make quite a bit of noise with the jakes on. I can handle that plus they are alot cheaper than straights.

I have tried youtube for video so i can get an idea on sound but I found nothing. Thanks

    PS I'm running a 14L 515 in a classic thanks again

The mufflers are basically a rebranded Donaldson unit. I am running the Pitts Power mufflers cause at the time of purchase I had no idea that they were Donaldson units. The sound is a bit deeper and the jakes have more of a hammer on a piece of metal sound with my ACERT. I haven't seen any MPG gain, but the motor spools easier and drops the RPMs a little quicker also. Trust me you won't be disappointed with these mufflers until you see the price difference between the Pitts Power and the Donaldson units. Let me do some looking for the Donaldson part number and I will post it later (or do a search on some of the CAT ACERT threads).

My buddy has a 515 troit in a 06 f-liner. Trust me when i say thats one engine that does not even need a muffler. He took his muffler off and put strights on, thinkin he was going to be all "billy big rig".LOL .The thing still sounds like an ingersol rand air compressor!! It made no differance hardly at all.. Ya he gets a little pissed when we bug him LOL......:biggrin_2559:

it's not the same mufffler but you get the same results. the pitburg has a spiral baffle in it. Eskimo put one on his 14L and I think he said it picked up .5mpg but he also did the overhead at the same time
