On 28 July 2023 I was on 295 and was sideswiped by a semi while I was driving my semi. He never stopped. My dashcam caught the trailer number and company name. I was not injured but I did sustain $7000 in damage, and my insurance will do the repairs. Had I not kept control of my vehicle I would have rolled down the steep grassy side of the off ramp. I want to sue this guy and the company because I was told by the trooper and my companies Safety Director that what he did was intentional, based on the video. I also have a witness. Im not looking to get a million dollars, but since he intentionally used 25,000lbs of someones else's equipment to execute his plan, someone should be held accountable. Ive spoken to almost ten accident/injury attorneys, all of them declined because I wasnt injured. Even though its a hit & run and that makes it a criminal offense, I cant get an attorney to take this case. Unable to upload video because its an MP4.
Why didn’t the police go after the guy if you had video proof? Something doesn’t sound right because hit and run is a pretty serious offense. Unfortunately you didn’t hit the lottery on this one. Best outcome would be to see that the guy got charged with the offense.
Your mistake was not being injured. ABI Always Be Injured Best thing for you to do now is put it out of your mind.
I recently was a passenger in a car that got rear ended hard while stopped to make a left turn Other driver had the state minimum of $10k per person / $20k per accident insurance . Fortunately all I got was a herniated disk. So we all three get to fight over the $20k
Good idea. Thank you. This guy was a company driver. Were all drivers here so we know the incredible depths of transportation pockets. Im not after big money, but if my life was considered to be of no value by their employee, then they are responsible for his idiocy.
