With margins that thin all it takes it one decent break down to put you in the red for a week two..good luck taking time off.. your more than likely have to turn 2k miles a week before a dime even makes it to the house.. wish ya the best of luck..
How are O/O making a living at $1.00 a mile

If owning a truck was no better than what you lay out, I'd have never bought one. Hell, the very first truck I bought in 2003 I made double with it at that time than what you do now. I didn't have a clue what I had truly gotten myself into at the time, and wasn't happy with what I was making then. I won't even tell you what I clear a week now, you'd probably just call me a liar. And there's guys here that do better than me too.Toomanybikes, BoostedTeg, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
my warranty pays fora blown engine or tranny. I will still have that warranty for two years after the truck is paid off and if I start with this company I can keep that warranty for 700 a year though bout sure for how long, plus I well have plenty in my accounts with the maintenance fund, escrow and completion bonus tho cover a new engine. Any other questions?

I can keep this up all day because like I said, this is a very fair program, but all you see is that dreaded dollar a mile, you don't know or do the numbers. And yes, that warranty does pay, can introduce you to a man right now with a paid off truck that lost an engine due to a faulty dpf issue just before he paid his truck off, he now has a brand new crate engine and dpf system bought from and installed by Cummins. No cost to the driver aside from the time getting outdone and the company loaned him a truck during that time.

Who wants to run 3k miles every week? If I get over 2k I'm whining like a little baby. I like to stay around 1700 a week.

I was referring to the down time of a break down. Warranty doesn't cover down time.. hard to recover with margins that low..I wish you the best of luck and really do hope it works out for ya..

I remember when I worked for a company driving 3,000 miles a week for a buck a mile plus surcharge. I didn't do it for long. They had awesome fuel discounts too. Was always hoping and praying to crack a $2,000 net settlement. I remember spending $3,800 for 10 new tires and how it set me behind for months. I remember when a car ran into me and my truck was in the shop for a couple of weeks being repaired and how that put me behind for months. I remember how what little I had managed to save for those things didn't go very far and I was forever busting my ### turning 3,000 miles a week and not getting very far for my troubles.
I mean you look at Wal Mart or UPS parcel drivers and they make $1,500+ a week with full bennies. To me owning a truck a $2,000 week settlement is what I manage to scratch out in hard times. $3,000 is what I gun for. Here for a long time now $3,000 settlements are a huge disappointment. That's funny to say that but it's the truth. A truck should make a lot more than $1,500-$2,000 a week I don't care what the discounts are. What a waste of effort and good equipment. Besides that anyone that wants fuel discounts like that can get them independent or leased, there are options out here.Toomanybikes, Lepton1 and spyder7723 Thank this. -
