I'm a newbie been out of school for awhile and I haven't been able to get in the industry yet due to an accident I got into last November. Thing is a few months ago I went to court, contested the ticket and WON so now I just got off the phone with a company and they say even if I have proof I still have to wait until November to be considered...anyone out there have any advice?
If you won, why is it on your record? If you want it gone, may have to contact an attorney to help you out. Though, honestly, taking the summer and fall off would probably cost less money.
The accident is still on your record, but the ticket isn't. Where is your location? Some companies will still hire you. ~ Anyone injured in the wreck? Did you run a stop sign or were you speeding? Did you rear end another vehicle?
A question? Did this accident happen with you holding a CDL? If so did it involve anything to do with those tables in 383.51? While I understand you beat the ticket in state court that accident is still hanging over you. Telling you to wait until November tells me there is some kind of restriction on you from something. You are NOT providing enough information. Short of this the only real way to resolve these kinds of things is the passage of time. Speaking of those tables in 383.51. I know several drivers that can't drive right now because of a violation of one of the offenses listed in table 1. One is about halfway through a 1 year and the other is about 8 months into a 3 year. A third is on life and got out of the industry!
So you beat the ticket you got when you had the accident. But the fact is, your fault or not, you were involved in an accident, and that is all some companies look at.
Don’t sound like he beat it very good to me. I’d have gone off Roy D. Mercer with a pine box full of arse whooping on it. But, that’s just me. I put my all into whatever I do.
Thing is the ticket was thrown out I didn't even have to take a class so I'm confused...is that like standard procedure for a company to do that?
