That’s like the APU weight exemption (400-500 pounds) was merely “federal guidance” and not a mandate. Some states decided it was worthwhile, some did not and still don’t.

Please tell us exactly what rules elogs are allowed to break that paper logs cannot?

    Theoratically nothing can be broken.

However if you are blessed with a fleet that provides a Line 5 (My name for it) for PC in ELD and have the freedom to do it within reason, then it is truly a blessing.

PC to parking. Drive down the shoulder of the interstate at 5 mph so it doesn't log. PC all the time anytime. These are changes that were created for the Eloggers. There are more, but like I said, I can't keep track of them all.

Mine logs driving whenever the truck is moved, regardless of the speed or distance. It makes no difference to me, though. So I think you are painting the elogs with a wide brush. Not all work the way you say. I think the difference is AOBRD and ELD. Soon it will be all ELD and end a lot of confusion.

And paper loggers don’t fudge here and there? Paper loggers log drive time the 8 miles from the truck stop to the shipper? Give me a break

it seems some people have a very distorted view of elogs. PC rules apply to everyone not just those on elogs. 5mph down the interstate, yeah everyone is doing that. run that last 50 miles to the customer on the shoulder at 5mph .... yeah, I do that every day.

I guess I'm in the wrong spot, the only trucks I ever see driving on the shoulder are trying to get to a shop for tires or emissions derated them to 5mph. And that is only very rarely. You must travel in the elog outlaw lanes.
