If I understand correctly, and if you got backed into a scenario like this (more or less to scale), you're a pretty good driver and should have had no problems figuring out how to straighten out. Hats off to you, man.

Your loss, metric is much easier/more efficient to use.

As far as advice on the alley dock... I'd pass and tell them to relocate someplace with adequate space for a 70' truck to back. But then, I'm not a real super trucker.

If, the size dimensions will work for your space: from a proper setup position, Tandems slid to the rear, preform 90 Degree turn. (no other option exists)

Hey that is a real good illustration. Only that I had a little more space on the drivers side, about the same amount of space on that side as I did in front of me.

I never did get that truck straight, so the dock guy comes out and says we can unload you crooked just fine, he then went and got a Real Long ramp. Apparently they have had a few incidents before with us truckers by the looks of the dock markings.

Think I'd tell em they need to knock a wall down...

With all the regulation on us, I wish the government had an agency that went to warehouses to say "You ask drivers to back 53 foot trailers into here, with sleeper cabs? Nope. Not allowed to be that big of dicks to drivers."
