How do I find what trucking companys OTR have terminals in my city?

I live in Cleveland and I don't have a car right now. What are some of the good OTR trucking companys with terminals in NORTHEAST OHIO. ??

HOW DO I FIND OUT?

I am looking at Swift and they have a terminal in Columbus, Looks like I might have to move if I was offered a job for that company.

All joking aside, there is a site that shows company's that are hiring in your local area / company's with terminals in / around your area. I'll see if I can find it.

 

What are some of the OTR companys , i mean how many are there? All i know of are Werner and Swift??

This will give you a long list of company names. Google will get you contact information for most of them.

 

That Lantern is the man! He beat me to it while I was getting all the links. No disrespect to anyone but some people (Lantern) just get the research thing. The TTR Forum is loaded with information just waiting for someone to look it up and read it.

 

Go to your local truckstop and there will be a cabinet between most fuel islands and the fuel desk with a huge amount of recruiting books in it. There will be websites for these companies that you can go to and see where there terminals are.

But the beauty of trucking is that you don't have to live within driving distance of your job! Look for what is called a "Hiring Area". If you are within their hiring area, they will put you on a bus to get you to orientation. There is plenty of information out there if you know where to look.

 

It should not make any difference whether a carrier has a terminal near you or not as long as they run that area. Cleveland is a major freight lane, so I don't think that it would be difficult for you to get home.
