The US currently has over 90 million people of working age 24-55 not working. We really do not need to import workers, we have already exported most of our jobs.

I'm willing to bet most of those are unemployed either because they want to be or because they can't find the one specific job that they want to work at. Driving down the road, I see "now hiring" and "help wanted" signs everywhere. Just because some idiot went $100 grand in debt to get that degree in Underwater Basket Weaving and no one is hiring underwater basket weavers, they think that they're above working in a warehouse. They'd rather sit around playing video games in their parents basement until they find the perfect underwater basket weaving job. That's not unemployment, that's being too lazy to go do what you have to do to pay the bills.

Same goes for people who major in literature, art history, or any other of the humanities. Now don't get me wrong, I love literature. I read over 100 books every year. But I'm not naïve enough to think anyone is gonna pay me for it.

OK so you're already here in the states, how do you like North Carolina?

Sorry about that, my wife's friend is from Dublin and I just got soaked with a beer by her for posting that.

Seriously though where in Ireland are you from?
