Breakdowns are probably from a lack of maintenance

Those new E-APU's are probably going to be the fleet solution. They cost less up-front ($6-7k instead of $10k) and don't require the constant maintenance that a small diesel generator would. Apparently they also work really well and will supply even high-draw applications for 10-12 hours.

On the LT I can vouch that they work alright, although they've still got their issues. A/C will shut off well before the auto-start kicks in, and 8 batteries will still get murdered by a microwave.

That's good to know. At least when running a microwave for 4-5 minutes, you could easily just have the truck running then shut it off again. It's amazing how much power they do draw though.

    Push down brake pedal
    Push in yellow brake button
    Hit cruise on button
Hold cruise set button and at the same exact time release your foot off of brake pedal and pull yellow brake button out: continue holding cruise set button for several seconds and release.....tap throttle to see if it worked... it always does for me....16 prostar

Electric heat “tape” from a hardware store. Used to keep waterlines from freezing. Wrap around mirror and secure with a bit of duct tape to thermometer.
Or those disposable hand warmers tapped to thermometer

That’s what I’m currently doing. The hand warmer thing. It’s currently 67 here but tractor reads 87. I’ll take it... unplugging the sensor did nothing but throw codes. It still shut down after 20 minutes.
