Lol, my codriver did that. My codriver rolled into Denver while I was sleeping I felt him drop the trailer and bobtail around a bit, I finally got up and realized we weren't @ the sap bros, Instead we were at Western distribution. He walked in and spoke to several people for about an hour.

2 weeks later (after some really nice paychecks) he quit and became a forklift repair student.... turns out his wife said shed divorce him if he continued driving otr...

They'll understand because they've seen it 100 times before. Just work it into your time off. If they really want you, they'll work with you. Good luck with the new job!!

Yeah, those intentions being making a very few people an obscene amount of money that goes offshore.

It's not just minimum-wagers anymore: even middle-classers get screwed this way.

applying to other trucking companies is much easier, now applying outside the industry is where an interview can get pretty tricky!

like others said phone interviews sometimes work, I know back when I was an executive chef I applied for a position that was 4 hours from my house, they did a phone interview first with me and then called me up telling me they liked me and wanted to have the face to face interview and then we scheduled it for a week out since I had to plan around events and then I got the job, lost a day of pay to go there plus the gas etc but ended up getting a job that paid almost double what I was getting, sometimes you just have to take those chances and find a way to make it work.
