i had a small one that plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet that ran my laptop and printer and a big one that i hooked up to the batteries with jumper cables when i was stopped to run my microwave they never said anything to me. One of my friends that works for them now has a generator on the catwalk to run his air conditioner that he sticks in the drivers window when parked and his microwave

Schneider offered me a job 6 mos into my driving career three and half years ago. When I found out they won't allow for any hard wired decent size inverter, I told them thanks but no thanks.

Just seemed weird to me then (still does now) that a company won't allow or even provide a truck for a driver with something so basic and safe as a properly wired in inverter.
The company I now work for has a factory spec'd 3000k watt inverter installed including 4 standard 110V outlets. Heck, they even have a built-in refer included.Last edited: Jan 19, 2013

A lot of companies don't seem to believe that a happy comfortable driver will be a very productive driver too for the most part..
Marky84, NavigatorWife and Scooter Jones Thank this. -
Hard wired inverter, fridge, microwave and toaster ... my truck, my rules.

At Bison all company highway trucks have 2000 watt inverters hard wired in and come with factory fridges.

And I doubt the cost of a 2500W inverter could be made up for in one day by anything.
I've thought about a coffee maker for my truck, but then there is the space for everything.
The coffee maker, and keeping it secured against damage.
The coffee grinder.
The extra water.
Not to mention the battery requirements, and many times my batteries are too low at that time in the morning to power anything - much less anything that has been on a timer all night.
