No, not that one. It’s closer to Lafayette.

I never let my DEF go under half tank anymore since I read it in a couple of DEF manuals. The big fleet I worked for eventually started giving that advice. It has nothing to do with running out of fuel, though. It has to do with the proper functioning of the DEF system. My truck consumes half a tank (about 10 gal) every 2,750-3,250 miles.

Loves had a public interview stating they didnt want to charge drivers for parking . Instead they wanted to use communication threw internet to inform drivers of available spaces for parking at their Truck stops. Who knows maybe it would be an app with live feed drivers could use to make informed decisions

Free anything means supply will run out. I know it pisses off a lot of drivers that places charge to park but I think paid parking is awesome. They have free spots too. And when those are full there have been times I was grateful to be able to pay for a spot. Of course this wasnt necessary when I was on paper logs. I never paid to park before I went on EOBR and never had trouble finding parking then either. So that is another way EOBR has cost me money but in dealing with it in the here and now paid parking is needed. There needs to be more of it everywhere. Company drivers should refuse to work for a company that wont reimburse for it and o/o should be able to cover that cost.

Some states have information screens on the road: how many spaces left on rest areas. They probably have sensors what counts in and out of each location.
Also truckers path is being useful lately with informing about parking. Those guys (truckers path) should get some kind of award or appreciation from fmcsa just for this idea. It helps to make better plans.

For me, parking hasn't been any more or any less difficult with elogs. I can understand your point of view, and my company reimburses me. I just can't fathom paying some money before I go to sleep. I feel like I may as burn that money.

Most the items in Truck Stops are 15% to 50% marked up . The same cell phone accessories can be found at Walmart , Frys and amazon for less than half the price . With my fuel card my receipt is emailed to me , only reason to go in most the time is for restrooms or showers . I might watch a football game in the lounge now and than .

Unfortunately, Love’s is too late. We already have Trucker Path for that. TA/Petro have an app where they report their parking spaces, but it’s not more accurate than Trucker Path.

It’s true. Sometimes I want to be as close as I can to the receiver so I can take a 34, and not have to use much of my 11 to deliver the current load. This then allows me for a better load after. It pays for itself. Truck stops in major cities are always full.

Sorry but I dont buy it that parking isn't an issue for anyone on EOBR. You're not being truthful. So you have NEVER pulled into a truck stop and found there was nowhere to park? You have NEVER had to cut your drive time short and adjust your schedule, throwing things out of whack, because you thought parking might be an issue closer to your destination? NEVER been under pressure from that before? Hmmmm. Do you run terminal to terminal or some such perfect world scenario that 90% of the other drivers out here don't operate like?
