I always enjoy seeing more women out here. More power to you! There's nothing us guys can do that women can't do just as well. Advice for everyone: don't be afraid to ask questions, or ask for help if you need it!

Just like anywhere else. ...some people are rude and ##### holes and some are nice...some will think u are a lot lizard if they dont see u driving the truck...keep you doors locked and a bat or blade less the 4 inches just incase u do run into a problem. ..alot of lonely people out there...but u will be okay just watch your surroundings

Crowded truck stop ........ Hundreds of lonely men ............ staring out the windshield ........ feeling their eyes burning holes through your body as you strut past ..... you will be fine!

40 years ago when I started driving you had a lot of mental midgets. Today you will find a lot of women drivers out there. Men don't bug you unless you want then too. You have a problem with a guy just plant his jewels under his hat that will give him the message.

Females drivers are among the best. They have no ##### to enter the measuring contests, I guess.

I imagine it will be a lot like being a female on the N. Shore of Oahu in winter. Not very many of them, so they get stared at and talked about a lot.

You shouldn't have any worries about the boys or bad loads. It might not hurt to wear a wedding ring, you can pick one up cheap at a pawn shop or Walmart.

I disagree with that if i am comprehending it properly. The cb is actually your friend as anywhere that you are going, another driver has been. I suggest just talking as a driver and not calling the ,males 'honey",or "sweety",not that you do anyway but in case, and if they spout off or talk out of line, end the conversation by telling them why you are ending it.Do just that-end it by turning the darn thing off for a little while. Not for long though as traffic or other need to know type info will crop up.

I have found over the years that women can drive circles around this new breed of male driver and THAT is why the new breed of male driver, with a few older ones, treat the female driver as they do.The new breed male driver rarely does a PTI in the mornings while all of the females that i have observed do a thorough one.IF I run with anyone,it is usually a female driver.I have gotten to know many over the decades and each one is top notch and gets the job done as opposed to the excuses that one hears otherwise.

anyway, you'll be fine out here.best of luck OTR-

Aren't you the wisdom laden one since extricating yourself from the transportation industry Ms. EX-6 year driver? Even though my opinion is not the status quo on this forum,I find that you have enormous amounts of practical knowledge and contributions to share and that you are always positive and uplifting with your mensa-esque (just made that up for content) posts.Mind boggling that you learned so much in such a small amount of time. Edited to add: I am at times a smartarse as well as sarcastic.I realize that fact is well hidden but in full disclosure,i admit it.

Honestly,i never thought I would agree w/you but post #17 had an accurate point or two for the OP.No need for the fake wedding ring as that is over kill.OP just needs to display her confidence well w/out calling attention to it. Oh yeah,I have seen females tell males to not get on their steps and that they are not interested in talking at that time.worked well for them.flustered romeo but got their point across.
