I'm a guy that if your pumpin fuel next to me I'll make alittle conversation with you but when either of our pumps kick off that's it. Same with if you ask me for help, I'll help you until I don't need to anymore then I'll go back to my truck and leave you alone I think that's how most of use are.

It's always a trip when I hear guys berate a woman saying she cant handle trucking. Are you kidding? I sat on my ### 9 hours today. Occasionally I get out and push some buttons, or pull some levers, climb in a trailer. Every woman driver I have met is polite and professional. More than I can say for all guys I've met.

The companies dont care if you are male, female or transitioning from one to tne other... it is not lime otner industries where a man gets paid more for the same job, or promoted more than women...
In this Industry men and women are treated the same and it is about your performance not your gender...

That is true in all aspects of the job... if they expect a driver to change a burned out light bulb... then they expect it from male drivers and female drivers alike..

Well, to be fair, there are parts of my job that I wouldn't expect a woman to do, like pallet jacking a 3,000 lb skid of tile to the back of the trailer so a forklift can get it.

Why not? I cant lift 3000 lbs, but I'll figure a way to wrangle it the 50 ft. Any lady could, too.

I don't doubt that. But 3000 is a lot to move with a pallet jack, even for a big boy like myself, especially if there's the slightest incline involved. And I do it every day.

If I can do it anyone can.Im small and have loaded and unloaded trailers.Thats easy work no matter how heavy the pallets are..Sometimes I may need help with stiff tandems but not before I try it myself.
