Since the OP mentioned endurance, I can jump right in my car and drive 900 miles to Florida if I want without batting an eye.![]()
How many miles do you OTR drivers usually average per day?

I prefer 500 miles and find a spot for the night. It's plenty, cars are not as good as big trucks in comfort. I could do about 900 to a thousand but will be fighting white line in them things. Ive done road trips to the east coast a few times in older cars such as a El Camino it worked well for the mountains with it's lower gearing and short legs but not so well on the flat at 80. It was not made for that. 70 was plenty. Shuffling trucks on 40 in TN until Knoxville made for a bit of stragety trying to keep from getting buried in trucks. Herds of trucks. All determined to Virginia or bust.
Once on a lark we hit Atlanta from Gettysburg in a small mazda 5 speed. It took about less time than a big truck could do it. Although parts of it was 100+ in the left lane at Spartansburg on 85 I think it was. zip. We lost the 5th gear on the way down but it mattered not. Still had the other 4. Getting back took a little bit longer because we failed to leave the first hour after waking. We hung around until like noon losing 7 hours being awake then drive. So the price for that loss was taking two days to get back. Just to be safe. -

On eLogs and 65 MPH truck, if I have the hours and the miles in front of me I'll generally log 650-670 miles on good roads.

If you're driving at midnight and shut down at say 7am, take your 10, and roll out at 5:15pm(pretrip everyone), you've legally got 13.75 hours of driving time in one day. I've knocked down some big miles this way when I had to, but prefer between 600-675ish a day. Still, like someone said earlier, 8.75hrs is all you can "average" anyway(inc line 4 stuff). It's nice to run like hell for a few days, then take it somewhat easy for the next few days. The low mile days don't seem so bad then.

You all drive too hard. Although I have had my share of 6-700+ days, I start crying after 250. And 300 is pushing it.
