Just watched a million miler drop on the frame at a walmart DC. Cause? He broke his rhythm talking to another driver. Fortunately he was empty, and it was on the frame not the ground.

Momentary lapse of reason is all it takes.Like low downs at truck stops pulling a drivers king pin latch while he's asleep..Dirty dogs.

Think that happened to 1 of our drivers at a J a couple weeks ago. Had a QC message from safety to visual and tug test if you're away from your rig for more than half an hour.

I came disastrously close once. I was unhooking from a trailer I had docked when my mother-in-law called about something rather serious. I continued working while I talked to her, and just as I was getting ready to pull out from under the trailer, my Spidey Sense started tingling.

I got out of the tractor and sure enough I had not rolled the landing gear down. If not for my brain stopping me with its typical OCD nonsense, I was about to have a bad time.

Dropping my RGN about 2 months ago someone started talking to me. I ended up pulling my airlines from the neck to my trailer. Thankfully the guy who I was talking to had to part I needed to repair the end of the line. The guy who was talking to me was if you remember the deepwater horizon explosion, He was the captain of the first ship that responded, Now he's and Owner Operator.

Just saw a dropped trailer at a fuel pump. Kind of puzzling as you would think that if it wasnt hooked properly it would have come loose long before the driver got there. Even if he had done a swap at the truck stop before pulling up to fuel the amount of twists and turns to get to the pump would have seperated it.

My only conclusion is that another driver pulled his fifth wheel release, maybe pissed off that he was taking too long in the store or maybe a grudge of some sort.

Watch out for "guys talking to you". A milk outfit I knew of, got a brand new tanker, they put their most experienced driver in front of it, like 30 years pulling a tank. Maiden voyage, gets to the transfer place, a worker starts talking to him about the trailer, he hooks on the hose, opens the valve and didn't open the top. Sucked 'er in. In all his time, that never happened. He was so upset about that, he quit after 30 years.
