I think that's what my mistake was. I was only looking at what I could possibly make, not how hard it was going to be on my body. And yes, it's McElroy. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing them, I am just not the right fit for them.

Well, I may be gonna try them also. The reason is I am not going to be gone for weeks on end at this time. Now I might have to before it's over but I'm not going to start with.

Yes I did. In a 13 speed. What I said in an earlier post was there was nothing in the truck to say what kind of gears it had(10 speed) and the driving instructor when I asked him how many gears this truck had told me I should already know and to drive.

With instruction like that, you should not refer to him as an instructor!

I only went to one fresh out of school but already had a good understanding of the trucks as a whole and the difference between a 10, 13, super 10, 9, whatever it may be.....i think I had a better than average school though.....we got instruction on all of them and had all of them except the 9 available for training on

ay any rate, with no schematic on the dash or anywhere they should at least have given you some heads-up to what was in the truck and you should have been able to take it from there.....

having said that, orientation was pretty intense......out of 9 of us that started the week, only 4 of us made it past the first day....they cut both students and experienced drivers alike for a variety of reasons but did it on day one.......but the 4 of us that were left after day one all were hired.

Yea, I would've thought that they would do a driving test first, and then go from there. I am trying to get a manufactoring job and forget about it, but I don't know if that will happen.

yeah, pre-trip, road test and backing was the very first thing we did at my company on day one......that got most of the students right out of the gate.....and made me glad I went to such a throrough and longer school......

I didn't think 3 weeks was enough to prepare anyone to move forward into training and the students they cut proved that to be true.....

the experienced guys got cut for other reasons, medical, DAC, mvr ect.....

but they put us in the truck first before going any farther with orientation
