A job well done will command respect from the right people, hold your head high and f everyone else if they dont like it. Its an abrasive business, but everyone gets #### on in trucking. White black brown gay straight trans, doesnt matter. I cant think of anyone in my circle of friends, drivers, shippers or recievers that would give an honest crap, as long as you do a good job.

Why didn’t you cook your own food in the truck? But yeah out 2 weeks and 2-3 days home is insulting. I have no idea how anyone could maintain a gf/wife whatever being otr. Me im gonna take advantage of it and just talk to people on my headset half the day i guess. And take a month or so off whenever i get burnt out every 6+ months or so i dunno. I will just see what i can make of it i guess. Any down time layovers etc i will be trying to make the most of it and do something fun.

Some drivers do cook in the truck.
    George Foreman Grill
    Crockpot
    Microwave
    Dorm refrigerator
Can do all this after you're assigned your own truck and running solo.

Yeah... When I was training with my trainer I didn't go home for 3 months straight, when I got home, it was so weird and strange, felt like I've been gone for years lol, I still want to stay out BUT with a company that I like and that's keeping me moving.

Just ignore some posts you don't agree with. Keep your eye on the goal and ignore the other stuff.

Yes, you can cook your own food once you get your own truck, and yes, you can distract yourself with music, podcasts and other stuff to pass the time. I have multiple playlists I play when I'm driving, trucking can be a decent career if you have thick skin, meaning if you can put up with the BS that comes with it.

If you have a problem with your trainer, get a different trainer. There are people at the company for that.

And showering? You don't share the shower with anyone, it is yours alone.
A 'team shower' means that one shower credit gets you and your trainer 2 separate shower rooms.
