How much would I have to pay to get you to drive for me?

I am going thru this now, I decided to pay percentage. Like dan said it eliminates having to worry about the length of haul. This way the more you can squeeze out the broker the more the driver sees also,, if your worried about that. I agreed upon 26% which is what I made several years ago driving part-time in college. Makes it easier also so you don't have to worry about breaking down the loaded and empty miles either.

I could do something like Schneider Choice and pay a percentage, but that would mean drivers would need to be able to dispatch themselves off of a load board, unless I took that over myself. I'm trying to create the company I would like to drive for. I want to discourage short money wasting runs. The last thing I want are drivers taking beer runs. They are short and heavy and not very profitable.

There are endless drivers who will drive for $500 per week, you shouldn't have trouble finding a driver.

The short runs are where you make the best money ... the truck eats less money to get the job done and the freight pays a fat rate when you figure it out per mile, if there is hardly any miles in it you charge a minimum day rate ... Should be able to pay the driver the same amount of money, truck does less miles, don't have to run all over the country, everyone wins ...

$300 minimum to load onto my truck. I'd rather do 3 loads a day at that rate going across the street then 1 load that nets me the same but runs more miles and time on my truck.

Just out of curiosity, are you able to get drivers who will run for 22.5% of gross??? It seems kinda low…

That would be 1575.0 per week with the truck making an average of 7k, not really that bad.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.
