I use to dread some railroad crossings when I was really heavy and had a mechanical RGN......

He might have got lucky and there were some of those rail fan folk there filming. They at least would have known what to do.

im sure that train had it called in, long before the railroad fan did. Not only that when you put a train in emergency, I'm sure it notifies dispatch.

If they had sight lines the head end crew would have been all over that. Putting one of those in emergency I’d imagine would set off bells and whistles a bunch of different places. I’ve watched the engines on a train that was on the way down to Sept Isles running on a computer on a desk at the Mont Wright mine, the same as if they were hooked to a load bank out in the yard. Those things are wired with more telemetry than a space shuttle.

All you have to do is fire your pony motor or pto up and raise the ride height ease across and set it back down it takes all of 1 min beforehand

Not sure what you do if you have a mechanical neck but mine it’s super easy and I usually leave a couple inches to go the thought is if it doesn’t make it I know I have a little left to free myself
I also have modified the mount for the leveling valve on the trailer to raise or lower by moving a lever.

Mechanicals we can wedge up. You’re not doing that overly fast though. That’s something you have to stop and do first. Bit of a circus of hardwood blocks, wedges and compressor abuse.
